Three Down, Three Innings To Go...Bullshit

First off, this is a continuation of what I was talking about in the last blog, about Philly not getting any respect. If any of what I said is wrong, then just look at the mishaps and disrespect that Philly recieved in the form of Game 5, here at CBP.

Why was there even a game played that night? Who in their right mind would want their baseball team to play in such wet and raw conditions, for a shot at the title? This is baseball, Bud! The catcher doesn't wear shoulder pads, your lead-off man is not a running back, and your pitcher doesn't line up behind center! How in the hell can you play baseball in half-assed winter conditions? How do you still play the game when every weather report, local and national, was telling you to wait a day or two before throwing people out in the middle of a wraparound storm system with temperatures in the 40s? 40s!!! I bet you if this was Mets, Bud would have held the game off until weather permitted! Why do it here?

THEN, to make matters WORSE the 5th inning is played and by the top of the sixth inning, you have puddles outlining all of the bases, and the pitcher's mound looks like a hump of dirt and mud that Monster trucks and dirt bikes leave after the show's over. The Phils were carrying a one-run lead into the inning, so what do you do? You allow the Phillies to pitch and field cold and slick balls and wind altering pop-ups. Cole, by virtue of the weather, loses his grip and leave a couple of pitches hanging, and the two guys on the Rays team-Pena and Eva- make just enough hits to tie the game( I didn't even mention the pop-up that J-Roll dropped, cuz it ain't his fault that the winds were gusting at 20mph and the rain was coming down like crazy). So, what do you do after the Rays tie the game back up? You finally pause the game, when in the rule books you are supposed to end the game at the fifth inning. Who was winning at the bottom of the 5th? PHILLY!! So, now we gotta wait until tonight to finish the rest of the game( yeah, we have the advantage of twelve outs to the rays' 9, but so the fuck what?!?!), and take the championship that was rightfully ours, by the rules in the MLB manual.

So, lets re-hash this: Game played in a noreaster, Phils up by end of 5th, Selig allows us to lose the lead fielding damn-near impossible hit balls out of the puddle-infested infield, Selig calls game after we were looking like assholes finishing the top of the 6th, game tied. DON'T YOU GET IT!!!!????

It goes back to what I've said before: Philly gets no respect, and we are blacklisted for reasons that I cannot fathom. Why us? For who and for what? Why can't we get a fair shake at this damned thing? What happens if the rays win and go on and win the series? Why do you hate us so much?
