Gimmie your top five funniest and why......Here's mine

5) Harlem Nights: Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor, Redd Foxx....all in one movie...Classic

4) Easy Money: Yeah, this is where I show my tastes. Pesci is a funny ass cat, in this one. We all know about Dangerfield

3) Uptown Saturday Night: Classic joint with Bill Cosby, but Sydney Poitier is just as funny.

2) Trading Places: Eddie Murphy as a broke, scheming black con artist, and Dan Aykroyd as a rich white stock broker, used as pawns in two old whiteys' "Heredity vs. Environment" game. This was a strong case for number one in my book, but!!!! I have my reasons why this isn't my number one, and you'll see why.

1) It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World: I've never laughed at greedy white people the way that I've laughed at them in this movie with an all-star cast back in the 60's. Five Hundred Grand, hundreds of miles away buried under a "Big W", and the race to get there and claim it. This was classic M-Fin' material!! Jonathan Winters as the tow truck operator who got caught up in the scheme with Ethel Merman and her family( "Sylvester" at home doing the twist, all highed up with his chick, has to be the funniest scene I've ever laughed at. Dude, his chick's face doesn't change nor does her head move throughout the whole scene!!), The corrupt police chief, Peter Falk and Rochester as the cabbies, Mickey Rooney on the plane with Jim Backus as the drunk pilot( Thurston Howell, Gilligan's Island), countless others.......this is the funniest that I've seen, hands down

Honorable mention:

48 Hours: Nick Nolte as Kates, Eddie Murphy as Reggie Hammond. MAD funny, but the drama and the killing takes the comedic edge off of it. Still a classic.

Stir Crazy: Gene Wilder, Richard Pryor...going to jail. When Pryor strikes the match off of the chest of that big dude in the cell with them, and he starts crying, I almost lost bodily functions.

Let's Do It Again: Not as funny as "Uptown...", but when they hyponotize skinny @-- Jimmy Walker to be the boxing champ, you couldn't laugh any harder at just the thought of that dude, beating up on someone bigger than he was.

Here goes Mr. Marlon Wayne Dame Don Vito Corleon Evans Brady Brando (LMAO).....this was hard b/c there are so many funny ass movies out there....the original Ladykillers was funny as shit...used to watch that wit my step pop back inna day. they butchered the remake, but it was still kinda funny. John Hughes made some memorable comedies (Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, etc) that had us laughin' thru our adolescence. 48hrs, Bev Hills Cop, Norbit were all funny ass Eddie jawns, yes I said Norbit...that shit was funny chumps. the Jerk...Planes, Trains & Autos, the first Airplane was funny too. and I can't forget about Friday!!!!! but my list of top 5 comedies of all time are:

5) STIR CRAZY.....Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder getn framed for a bank robbery and sent to prison for 100 + yrs...cause when Grossberger starts singing that song about jail...!?!?!?! soooooo funny!!!! when they walk inna prison Pryor wit his 1962...22nd & Diamond str8 out tha speak eazy stroll...and Wilder attemptin' to do tha same stroll.....classic. this movie has too many moments to list...but it was funny as all hell

4) BLAZIN' SADDLES....a satirical western from the same comic genius, Mel Brooks, who brought us History of the World (1 & 2....although 1 shits on the sequel). Cleavan Little as a black sheriff named Bart in 1870's america. from Mongo (Alex Karras) to Lily Von Shtuup (Madeline Khan) to Headly Lamarr (the late Harvey Corman) to the Waco Kid (Gene Wilder), this is one the funniest of all time. even hadda young rodney allen rippy in that jawn.

3) LIFE/ HARLEM NIGHTS/ COMIN' TO AMERICA (tie)....I agree wit Da' Average on the reasons for Harlem Nights making the list...plus add on to that Robin Harris, Arsenio and even Charlie Murphy...HN is another classic in my opinion. LIFE is also one of my fav's. like how Eddie made a movie influenced by Paul Newman's Cool Hand Luke....made it far more funny to me eddie, martin, bernie, miguel, obba bobatunde, anthony anderson, bokeem playin' can't get right....shit was dope. even tho Cool Hand Luke is the shiznit {damn Imma old head}...but these two are tied for 3rd on my all time top 5 list. heavy d even made a brief, but unforgettable appearance in this jawn. Comin' to America was funny b/c of bad actin'/ bad accents/ bad...err...damn this sounds like a typical eddie movie...only kidding...this was a funny movie from eriq lasalle wit the drip drip curl to Oaha singin' shes ur queen to be at the wedding to John Amos being John Amos to Sam Jackson robbin' the McDowell's only to be thwarted by Akeem and Semi...the church scene wit a performance by a group called sexual chocolate....vondie curtis hall the dude who recognizes akeem at the st john's game...barbershop scenes...very funny movie.

2) TRADIN' PLACES is just FUNNY AS A FUTHA MUKKER...NOTHIN' ELSE TO SAY!!!!!

1) THE BLUE'S BROTHERS is my all time funniest....so many instances in this flick have me laughin' to this day. I can only do the orignial jawn tho. can't front onna true classic. this was a really funny movie mainly b/c of BELUSHI. he was in his bag on this jawn. fa'sho. Akroyd wasn't too bad, he held it down in this jawn too...but he couldn't touch Belushi's energy in this one.

"it's been a treat....see you next week....remember to save the isle seats....cauze, I gots bad feets"

This is the toughest list ever.......too, too, many funny joints, but I'll try:

5) Boomerang: This was the Eddie joint that let me know he could work within an ensemble and still be funny......David Alan Grier deserved some kind of supporting award, he hit every note as Eddie's boy......and who could forget John Witherspoon.....Bang, Bang, Bang.....still funny now.

4)Which Way Is Up: Richard was doing the character thing long before he knew what an Eddie Murphy was....the plot and characters are so out there and Richard puts it down with the three he plays......."Somebody stole my chicken!!" Classic

3) Blazing Saddles: "Excuse me while I whip this out!", Mongo, Lily Von Schtup, Hedley Lemarr, "I get no kick from champagne", etc. I could go on for an hour, there is so many funny components of this flick.......props to Richard, who often gets overlooked for his writing contributions to this movie.

2) Harlem Nights: When you put all of those funny people in one spot, ish happens.......Shout out to Sgt. Cantone, living in a fuckin' hovel.....

1) Friday: The modern urban classic, without a peer.......the emergence of Chris Tucker (although that hasn't amounted to much, right?) Cube became a movie star with this one. Too many funny scenes and lines to mention, but who can't quote 'em?

I have a few honorable mentions, 'cause I feel bad leaving them out........

Silver Streak: The original Pryor/Wilder pairing......the crazy part is Pryor doesn't appear until midway into the flick and he still steals it.......the scene where Wilder puts the shoe polish on his face to pass for black is a classic........

Caddyshack.......yo, there is no way I could leave it out......Dangerfield.........the 15 min. caddy swim....Bill Murray......Ted Knight.......even punk azz Chevy Chase was funny in this one.....the priest getting struck by lightning.......even the damned gopher was funny!!!

Animal House: Belushi, man, Belushi........I still gut laugh, on the floor, weak with tears when I see the scene of him, hopping around on the lawn, climbing up the ladder to look into the girls' dorm.....and when the chick takes the bra off, he slowly falls backward onto the lawn below.......plus, all of the rest of it, classic material

Just peeped Easy Money a month ago...it's NOWHERE NEAR top 5 comedies ever. It's not even Dangerfield's best performance (Caddyshack anyone?).

It's a good movie with a couple memorable lines and that Billy Joel song, but you cannot put that in the top 5.

Z, don't talk without me dissecting your list...Oh, wait a minute. You don't have one..
