En, giddyup!!!! The guys who make your favorite shows watchable.....could be the star, could be a supporting cast member, could be anyone that makes you laugh......who are the illest sitcom characters on the tube?

Here are my five

5) DJ Jazz, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
The greatest DJ of all time, moonlighting as a numbskull on a sitcom......This guy was funny from the first apperance on the show 'til the end........for me, it went beyond Uncle Phil throwing him out on his ass every show, it was how dumb the character was and how Will managed to let him get him caught up in nonsense. Honorable mention to Carlton, just because of the dance to Tom Jones' "It's Not Unusual."

4) Grady Wilson, Sanford and Son
How ill was Grady? He stood in for Fred when Redd Foxx and NBC had words over the dough Foxx was getting and Redd decided to boycott the show.......Grady stepped in and did a great job, giving Lamont someone to play off of and holding his own at the same time. Even when Fred came back, Grady was right there, playing his part.

3) Wayne Arnold, The Wonder Years
Kevin's big brother was one of the goofiest people ever portrayed on network tv. He was comic relief for sure, especially when he would try to get serious.......but, ultimately, it was his screw ups that made the show funny and made you feel sorry for Kevin, having to put up with such a knucklehead. Shout out to Paul Pfifer and the knuckleheads that tried to say that he was really Marylin Manson......nice.

2) Junior, That's My Momma
What? Is Rowdee spending time in the way back machine again? Yeah, yeah, a brother dates himself with this one, but so be it.......Ted Lange before the Love Boat....this guy carried the whole show sometimes and his little minute long appearances made you wait for next week.......shout out to Earl and the Swamp Woman

1) Kramer, Seinfeld
I was gonna omit this guy for the nonsense that went on in that comedy club.....but, when I think about this show and how funny it was and how most of the funniest scenes involved him in some way, I can't deny him his spot at the top of my list. I still, to this day, laugh hard as hell when The Airport is on and Jerry looks out of his airplane window and sees this ass running along side of his plane.......a true original, no other characters can even claim to be like this one. Special shout out to Frank Costanza, creator of Festivus and his son George's dementia.

DAAAYYYUM!! I like this topic...It makes me have to dig in the vault. Here's my list...Let's discuss, shall we?

5) Homer Simpson: What can you say about the worst father in the world who always, in some capacity, winds up being the savior of the day? This dude is too funny! C'mon, yo. Spider-Pig? "MMMMM. Donuts." He's gotta be on my list.

4) Henry Rush, "Too Close for Comfort". The late great Ted Knight was so good at playing that smug, snobbish type of cat. The facial expressions, the smugness, and the explosion of his stress level everytime Monroe did something stupid, will always be a classic, in my book.

3) George Costanza: What can you say about this cat, who has a problem with EVERYONE in the world not liking him, who can't get over the slightest bit of peevery( my new word...LOL), who has to pull any and everyone in his diabolical attempts to get over on people, when all he has to do is say "no"...C'mon, man. For a dude with absolutely NO self-confidence, he has to be the ballsy-est cat ever.

2) Martin Payne( Martin Lawrence): WZUP, WZUP, WZZZUUUUUUP!!! for like three seasons in the 90s, this dude was the funniest thing on TV. Even when the show was falling off, and he and Tisha Campbell had beef, he still had maaad funny moments in his sitcom. If he didn't go off the deep end when he did, I think that he would have found another avenue in another sitcom. I mean, think about it...You remember the infamous joke battles with "Pam"( your breath smellin like train smoke....LMAO), especially the one with the late B. I. G. , when they were trying to figure out a way to get out of Martin's apartment without being mobbed by fans, and when Pam showed up, Martin said that it's okay, "we'll just hop on Pam's back" and he started mimicking a dude on a horse riding side-saddle, had to be one of the funniest scenes on that show.

1) Fred Sanford: I understand when my brother was talking about how funny Grady was in the show, but NOTHING on that show could match the late great Redd Foxx in the title role of Fred Sanford...that's s-a-n-f-o-r-d, period. Dude, when that one episode when Julio( one of his next door neighbors, a hispanic cat) walks in and says "Buenos Dias, Mr. Sanford", and Fred looks back at him and says "Yeah, and beans and disease to you too!", I almost pissed myself. This cat was almost the black version of Archie Bunker, complete with his own version of a meat-headed son-in-law, Fred's son Lamont, the Dummy. The fights with Aunt Ester, the walk, the few times he sang with his squad, that whole episode when Lamont was getting married and the chick ran out of the wedding( Fred was in RARE form that time), his frequent episodes of mischief with Bubba and Grady, I can't say enough about him. One of the best ever to do TV comedy.

Honorable mention: Joey-"Friends", Col. Potter- M*A*S*H*, Alphonso Ribero-Carlton Banks "Fresh Prince of Bel Air", Helen Martin( Ms. Helen)-"227", Sherman Hemsley( George Jefferson)-"The Jeffersons", Bernie Mac-"The Bernie Mac Show", Issac Hayes( CHEF)- "South Park"
